These shorts are really lightweight and airy, which makes them really nice to wear during the summer. Unfortunately, the material is not really strong enough to handle summer sweat, and the first pair of these that I got tore while I was ready my bike. It was hot, I was sweaty, and it had been a long day, but I wasn't riding particularly intensely and I feel like the shorts should have been able to handle this. The main reason my review wasn't lower was because of the phenomenal customer service from the tentree team. They sent me a new pair as soon as I emailed them about the issues with my first, and so far these have been pretty solid.Overall, these are good shorts that fit well ( some people may find they run a tad small, but I thought they struck a good balance between being form fitting and snug) and feel nice during the summer, but they can't handle to much wear and tear. At the very least they may need slightly better quality control, as this second pair is holding better than the first.
