Eating Earth-First: Everyday Turmeric Latte Recipe
On chilly winter days (or really any day you need a pick-me-up), grab these spices from your pantry and shake up your hot drink game with this easy, everyday turmeric latte. It’s my go-to when I’m craving something creamy (and plant based), but I haven’t been to the grocery store in a while.

Why drink a turmeric latte?

If the taste isn’t enough to convince you, here’s a peek into the nutritional benefits. Turmeric: Curcumin is its main active ingredient, and it’s a nutritional all-star. It’s shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and it’s a powerful antioxidant. Cinnamon: Like turmeric, cinnamon is also loaded with antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory benefits. And bonus: it also helps to lower blood sugar. Ginger: A calmer of digestive issues, lowerer of blood sugar, and reliever of nausea. Ginger does a little bit of everything.

Everyday Turmeric Latte Recipe

1 ¾ cup of unsweetened plant-based milk (my faves are oat or cashew) Just under ½ teaspoon of turmeric A heaping ½ teaspoon of cinnamon ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger powder 1 medjool date, pitted Throw all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender (I use a Vitamix), and blend on a low speed for the first 20-30 seconds. Increase to full speed until the date is fully blended. Pour your blended concoction into a pot and heat on the stove. Transfer to your favourite mug, and enjoy as needed.
